Applying For Financial Aid

Step 1 - File your federal income tax return. You will need data from your federal filing to complete your FAFSA.

Step 2 - Request your federal PIN so that you can complete your FAFSA electronically www.pin.ed.gov.

Step 3 - Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for Federal Stafford Loans and other financial Aid.

To ensure that we receive your FAFSA information, you will need to include our school code: E00074

Step 4 - Submit a Tepper School of Business Financial Aid Application (.doc). Feel free to fax it to 412-268-2810.

This provides our office with more detailed information about your needs and resources.

IMPORTANT: Your FAFSA information and Financial Aid Application are required in order for the Financial Aid office to prepare
your award letter that will outline your Federal Stafford and Private loan eligibility.

Step 5 - If you are applying for Federal Stafford and Federal Graduate Plus Loans, you must complete the Master Promissory Note and required entrance counseling online at AES.

We have developed a list of participating Federal Stafford, Federal Graduate Plus and Private Education loan lenders for students who would like guidance in selecting loans and the lender/s, review our list.

You can use your federal PIN to sign your MPN electronically.

If you choose to utilize a private loan you cannot apply any earlier than 90 days prior to the start of classes.

Step 6 - Complete the Tepper School of Business Loan Processing Form (doc).This form is required in order for your loans to be processed. Fax the completed form to 412-268-2810.

Please note: Loan certification does not take place until the first 2 weeks of August. Loan funds will be credited to your student account in equal disbursements (Fall & Spring). These funds are not permitted to arrive any sooner than 10 prior to the start of classes. If you are anticipating a refund, refund checks will be available during the first week of classes. You will be notified via email from The Hub when your check is available for pickup.
