Prof. John Hooker to Receive INFORMS Award

John Hooker, ethics and operations research professor at the Tepper School of Business, has been selected to receive the INFORMS Fellows award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the professions of operations research and management science. INFORMS is the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.

Hooker, the T. Jerome Holleran Professor of Business Ethics and Social Responsibility and professor of Operations Research at the Tepper School, will be presented with the award at a ceremonial Fellows Luncheon on Nov. 5, during the INFORMS annual meeting in Seattle.

With this honor, Hooker joins Tepper School faculty members Egon Balas, Gerry Thompson, Mike Trick and PhD. alumni Fred Glover, Manfred Padberg, Suresh Sethi, H. Martin Weingartner and Stan Zionts as INFORMS Fellows.

INFORMS is the largest professional society in the world for professionals in the field of operations research. It was established in 1995 with the merger of the Operations Research Society of America (ORSA) and The Institute of Management Sciences (TIMS).
