WHY: Professor Goodfriend is a leading authority on monetary policy and global financial markets, and is chairman of the Galliott Center for Public Policy at the Tepper School. His years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond included service as senior vice president, policy advisor and director of research. He also served as Senior Staff Economist for President Ronald Reagan's Council of Economic Advisors, and has conducted economic studies at the European Central Bank, Swiss National Bank and International Monetary Fund.
